The Harvard Crimson women’s basketball team has recently achieved significant milestones. In the 2024–2025 season, they secured their first Ivy League Tournament title by narrowly defeating Columbia 74-71. This victory earned them an automatic berth in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.
In the tournament’s first round, Harvard faced Michigan State but concluded their run with a 64-50 loss. Despite this setback, the season was historic for the Crimson, marking their first NCAA appearance since 2007.
A standout player for Harvard was junior guard Harmoni Turner, who led the team with an average of 22.5 points per game and a field goal percentage of 44.0%. Her exceptional performance earned her the Ivy League Player of the Year award, making her the first Harvard player to receive this honor.
Under the guidance of second-year head coach Carrie Moore, the team finished the season with a 24-4 overall record and an 11-3 mark in Ivy League play, securing third place in the conference. The coaching staff also includes assistant coaches Ali Sanders, Steve Harney, and Ariel Gaston.
