The High Point Panthers women’s basketball team, representing High Point University in North Carolina, has achieved significant milestones in recent seasons. Under the leadership of head coach Chelsea Banbury, now in her sixth season, the team competes in the Big South Conference and plays home games at the Qubein Center.
In the 2023–24 season, the Panthers finished with a 20–12 overall record and a 14–2 mark in conference play, securing the Big South regular-season championship. However, their journey in the Big South tournament was cut short in the semifinals by Presbyterian. They received an automatic bid to the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament (WBIT) but were defeated by Virginia in the first round.
The 2024–25 season has been historic for High Point. The Panthers clinched the Big South Conference tournament title by overcoming a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat Winthrop 81-69 in the championship game, securing their first NCAA Tournament berth.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for the program, reflecting the team’s resilience and determination under Coach Banbury’s guidance.
