Hillary Clinton is an American politician and diplomat who has held several significant roles in U.S. public service. Born on October 26, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, she served as the 67th U.S. Secretary of State under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, she represented New York as a U.S. Senator from 2001 to 2009, becoming the first woman to hold that position for the state. As First Lady from 1993 to 2001, she advocated for healthcare reform and played a pivotal role in various children’s health initiatives.
In the 2016 presidential election, Clinton became the first woman nominated for president by a major U.S. political party. She won the popular vote but lost the Electoral College to Donald Trump.
Recently, Clinton reacted to a national security incident involving Trump administration officials who mistakenly included a journalist in a Signal message chain discussing military strikes in Yemen. Her comment, “You have got to be kidding me,” drew criticism due to her own past controversies regarding the handling of classified information during her tenure as Secretary of State.
Additionally, President Trump revoked the security clearances of several former officials, including Clinton, as well as Kamala Harris and members of the Biden family. This action was perceived as retaliation following similar measures taken against Trump officials in the past.
