Isaac Paredes is a Mexican professional baseball third baseman currently playing for the Houston Astros. Born on February 18, 1999, in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico, he made his MLB debut with the Detroit Tigers on August 17, 2020.
Throughout his career, Paredes has played for several teams. He was traded from the Tigers to the Tampa Bay Rays in April 2022, where he had notable performances, including hitting three home runs in a game against the New York Yankees in June 2022. In July 2024, he was acquired by the Chicago Cubs, and later that year, in December, he joined the Astros as part of a trade involving outfielder Kyle Tucker.
In his first game with the Astros on March 27, 2025, Paredes contributed by scoring a run in a 2-1 victory over the New York Mets. He is expected to fill the third base position following Alex Bregman’s departure, bringing a pull-heavy hitting style that aligns well with Houston’s ballpark dimensions.
As of March 30, 2025, Paredes has played in three games for the Astros, recording one hit in seven at-bats, resulting in a .143 batting average.
