Jack Flaherty is an American professional baseball pitcher currently playing for the Detroit Tigers in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on October 15, 1995, in Burbank, California, he stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. Flaherty began his MLB career with the St. Louis Cardinals, making his debut on September 1, 2017.

In 2024, Flaherty signed a two-year, $35 million contract with the Tigers, which included an opt-out clause after the first year. The deal paid him a $20 million salary in 2025, along with a $5 million signing bonus, and includes a $10 million player option for 2026 that would increase to $20 million if he makes at least 15 starts in 2025.

Flaherty’s 2024 season was highlighted by a mid-year trade to the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he contributed to their World Series championship. He made 10 starts for the Dodgers, posting a 6-2 record with a 3.58 ERA and 61 strikeouts. He started Game 1 of the World Series against the New York Yankees, allowing two runs over five innings.

On March 28, 2025, Flaherty is scheduled to start for the Tigers against his former team, the Dodgers, in Los Angeles. This game is particularly significant as it coincides with the Dodgers’ World Series ring ceremony, where Flaherty and his former teammates will receive their championship rings.
