Jake Hummel, born on January 4, 1999, in Des Moines, Iowa, is a professional American football linebacker known for his contributions on special teams. He played college football at Iowa State University, where he amassed 228 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, two sacks, and three interceptions over five seasons.
After going undrafted in 2022, Hummel signed with the Los Angeles Rams. He made an immediate impact by setting a franchise record for most tackles in a preseason, leading to a spot on the Rams’ 53-man roster. Over his three-year tenure with the Rams, he played in every game, primarily contributing on special teams. Notably, in December 2024, he blocked a punt against the Buffalo Bills that resulted in a touchdown.
