Jalen Rose, born on January 30, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan, is a former professional basketball player and current sports analyst. He gained prominence as a member of the University of Michigan’s “Fab Five” during the early 1990s, reaching the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship games in 1992 and 1993.

In the 1994 NBA Draft, Rose was selected 13th overall by the Denver Nuggets. Over his 13-year career, he played for several teams, including the Indiana Pacers, Chicago Bulls, Toronto Raptors, and Phoenix Suns. Rose was known for his versatility, playing as a small forward, shooting guard, and point guard.

He averaged 14.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, earning honors such as the 1995 All-Rookie Team and the 2000 Most Improved Player.

After retiring from professional basketball, Rose transitioned to a career in sports media. He joined ESPN, where he co-hosted “Jalen & Jacoby” and appeared on “First Take.” In 2023, following his departure from ESPN, Rose became a studio analyst for NBC Sports’ “Big Ten College Countdown” on Peacock.

Beyond his media presence, Rose is committed to philanthropy through the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy, a public charter high school in Detroit aimed at providing quality education and mentorship to underserved students.

In his personal life, Rose was married to Molly Qerim, the host of ESPN’s “First Take,” from 2018 to 2021.

He has three children: a son, LaDarius, and two daughters, Mariah and Gracie.
