Jared Butler is an American professional basketball player currently playing as a guard for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. Born on August 25, 2000, in Reserve, Louisiana, he stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 193 pounds. Butler began his collegiate career at the University of Alabama before transferring to Baylor University, where he led the Bears to the 2021 NCAA National Championship and was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player.
In the 2021 NBA Draft, Butler was selected 40th overall by the New Orleans Pelicans and was subsequently traded to the Utah Jazz. Throughout his NBA career, he has also played for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Washington Wizards. In February 2025, Butler was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he signed a standard two-year contract.
As of March 10, 2025, Butler has been contributing significantly to the 76ers. In a game against the Atlanta Hawks that day, he started and recorded 11 points and six assists.
