Jase Richardson is a freshman guard for the Michigan State Spartans men’s basketball team. Born on October 16, 2005, in Berkeley, California, he grew up in Denver, Colorado. Richardson attended Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, and later transferred to Christopher Columbus High School in Westchester, Florida, before committing to Michigan State University.

Standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds, Richardson plays both point guard and shooting guard positions. In his freshman season (2024–2025), he has averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 51.0%.

Richardson is the son of Jason Richardson, a former NBA player who won a national championship with Michigan State in 2000. His mother, Jackie Paul-Richardson, played basketball at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Richardson’s younger brother, Jaxon, is a five-star recruit in the class of 2026.

In the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Richardson scored 15 points in Michigan State’s 87-62 victory over Bryant in the first round. He is considered a potential first-round pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, though he is noted for lacking size and explosiveness compared to other top prospects.
