Jeremy Roach is an American college basketball player who currently plays as a guard for the Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Conference. Born on November 1, 2001, in Washington, D.C., Roach attended Paul VI Catholic High School in Fairfax, Virginia, where he had a standout career.
As a senior, he averaged 19.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.9 steals per game, leading his team to the VISAA D-I State Championship. His exceptional performance earned him First Team honors on the Virginia All-State Boys Basketball Team and recognition as the Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year.
He was also named a McDonald’s All-American in 2020.
In college, Roach began his career at Duke University, where he played from 2020 to 2024. Over his four-year tenure with the Blue Devils, he averaged 11.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. In his senior year (2023–2024), he averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game, earning Third-Team All-ACC honors.
In September 2024, Roach transferred to Baylor University for his final year of eligibility. This move surprised many, as he had been a key player at Duke. Roach later explained that while he initially wanted to stay at Duke, circumstances led him to believe that transferring was the right decision, especially as the team favored Tyrese Proctor at the point guard position.
As of March 2025, Roach is gearing up for a potential matchup against his former team, Duke, in the NCAA Tournament. Both teams are set to face each other in the Round of 32, setting the stage for a highly anticipated game.
