Jericho Sims, born October 20, 1998, is an American professional basketball player currently playing as a center for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. He played college basketball for the Texas Longhorns before being selected by the New York Knicks as the 58th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
During his tenure with the Knicks, Sims was recognized for his defensive prowess, particularly his rim protection and athleticism. In December 2024, he emerged as a formidable defensive asset, with opponents shooting just 33% within six feet of the rim against him, ranking him among the NBA’s top paint defenders.
However, his role fluctuated, and by February 2025, the Knicks traded Sims to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for veteran guard Delon Wright. This move aimed to bolster the Knicks’ backcourt depth while providing the Bucks with additional interior defense.
Since joining the Bucks, Sims has continued to contribute defensively, leveraging his athleticism and shot-blocking abilities to enhance the team’s interior presence.
