John F. Kennedy Jr. (1960–1999) was an American attorney, journalist, and magazine publisher. Born on November 25, 1960, he was the son of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. He spent his early years in the White House and gained public attention with his salute to his father’s casket during the funeral procession in 1963.

Kennedy pursued higher education at Brown University and later earned his law degree from New York University. In 1995, he founded George magazine, blending politics and celebrity culture.

Tragically, on July 16, 1999, he died in a plane crash off the coast of Massachusetts, along with his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and her sister, Lauren Bessette.
