Jonathan Clay “JJ” Redick, born on June 24, 1984, in Cookeville, Tennessee, is a former professional basketball player and current head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Renowned for his exceptional shooting skills, particularly from three-point range, Redick had a distinguished 15-year playing career before transitioning to coaching.

Playing Career:

  • College: Redick played for the Duke Blue Devils from 2002 to 2006, earning accolades such as the Naismith College Player of the Year in 2006.​
  • NBA: Drafted 11th overall by the Orlando Magic in 2006, Redick also played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, and Dallas Mavericks. He retired in 2021 with career averages of 12.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.​
