João Fonseca is an 18-year-old Brazilian professional tennis player who has rapidly ascended the ATP rankings, achieving a career-high singles ranking of World No. 60 as of March 17, 2025.

In February 2025, Fonseca clinched his third ATP Challenger title of the year at the Phoenix Challenger in Arizona, defeating Alexander Bublik with scores of 7-6(5), 7-6(0).

Earlier in the year, he secured titles at the Canberra Challenger and the Jeddah Challenger, marking a remarkable start to his season.

Fonseca’s 2024 season was equally impressive; he won the Next Gen ATP Finals and earned his first ATP Tour title at the Buenos Aires Open, becoming the youngest South American to win an ATP title since 1990.

He also gained attention for his performance at the Australian Open, where he achieved a notable victory over world No. 9 Andrey Rublev.

Renowned for his powerful forehand and mental composure on court, Fonseca attributes his success to techniques like breathing and meditation learned during his youth. Inspired by Roger Federer, he aims to compete in the main draws of all Grand Slam tournaments and continues to make significant strides in his burgeoning tennis career.
