Lionsgate has officially announced the development of “John Wick: Chapter 5,” with Keanu Reeves set to reprise his role as the legendary assassin. This confirmation comes after the ambiguous ending of “John Wick: Chapter 4,” where audiences were left questioning Wick’s fate.
At CinemaCon 2025, Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group chair, Adam Fogelson, expressed enthusiasm about the new installment, stating that the team has crafted a “phenomenal and fresh” narrative for the franchise. Director Chad Stahelski and producers Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee are also returning to ensure continuity in the series’ vision.
In addition to the fifth chapter, the “John Wick” universe is expanding with several other projects. An animated prequel is in development, aiming to depict Wick’s “impossible task” before the events of the original film, with Reeves expected to voice the character. A live-action spinoff focusing on Donnie Yen’s character, Caine, is also in the works, with production set to begin in Hong Kong later this year.
While specific plot details for “John Wick: Chapter 5” have yet to be revealed, the return of Reeves and the original creative team has fans eager for more high-octane action and storytelling.
