Jonathan Kuminga is a 22-year-old professional basketball player who plays as a power forward for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA. Born on October 6, 2002, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kuminga moved to the United States during his youth. He attended multiple high schools, including Huntington Prep in West Virginia, Our Savior New American in New York, and The Patrick School in New Jersey, before joining the NBA G League Ignite in 2020.
In the 2021 NBA Draft, Kuminga was selected by the Warriors with the 7th overall pick. Since joining the team, he has shown significant potential, averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game during the 2024 season.
However, Kuminga has faced injury challenges. On March 30, 2025, during a game against the San Antonio Spurs, he exited in the second quarter due to right ankle soreness, the same ankle that previously sidelined him for 31 games earlier in the season. He will be evaluated further on Monday, with hopes of a swift return to action.
Off the court, Kuminga maintains an active presence on social media, particularly Instagram, where he has amassed over 637,000 followers.
