Josh Hartnett is an American actor and producer known for his diverse roles in film and television. Born on July 21, 1978, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, he began his career with a role in the ABC drama series Cracker (1997–1998). He gained prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s with leading roles in films such as Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998), The Virgin Suicides (1999), Pearl Harbor (2001), and Black Hawk Down (2001).

In recent years, Hartnett has experienced a career resurgence. He portrayed Ernest Lawrence in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer (2023), and played a serial killer in M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap (2024).

He also appeared in the third season of The Bear (2024) as Frank.

Hartnett is set to star alongside Dakota Johnson and Anne Hathaway in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel Verity, portraying Jeremy Crawford.

He has been recognized for his performances, with Trap being highlighted among overlooked performances of the awards season.

In his personal life, Hartnett has been in a relationship with British actress Tamsin Egerton since 2012. The couple has four children together and resides in the Surrey–Sussex border region of southeast England.
