josh naylor

Josh Naylor is a Canadian professional baseball first baseman currently playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on June 22, 1997, in Mississauga, Ontario, Naylor was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the first round (12th overall) of the 2015 MLB Draft from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School. ​

Throughout his MLB career, Naylor has also played for the San Diego Padres and Cleveland Guardians. In 2024, he earned his first All-Star selection after hitting 31 home runs and recording 108 RBIs, both career highs. In December 2024, the Diamondbacks acquired Naylor from the Guardians to address their first base position following Christian Walker’s departure to the Houston Astros.

As of April 1, 2025, Naylor is in his first season with the Diamondbacks. In the early part of the 2025 season, he has maintained a .400 batting average over his first four games, with three RBIs and an OPS of 1.033.
