Kadary Richmond is an American college basketball player who currently plays as a guard for the St. John’s Red Storm in the Big East Conference. Born on August 25, 2001, in Brooklyn, New York, he stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 205 pounds.
High School Career: Richmond began his high school career at Midwood High School in Brooklyn before transferring to South Shore High School, where he helped lead the team to two Public Schools Athletic League Class AA titles. He concluded his high school education at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, earning First Team All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council honors in 2020.
College Career:
- Syracuse University (2020–2021): Richmond started his collegiate career at Syracuse, where he averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game during his freshman year.
- Seton Hall University (2021–2024): He transferred to Seton Hall, leading the team in scoring, rebounding, and assists. In his senior year, he earned First Team All-Big East honors, averaging 15.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. Richmond also played a pivotal role in Seton Hall’s NIT championship win, contributing 21 points and 13 rebounds in the championship game against Indiana State.
- St. John’s University (2024–Present): In May 2024, Richmond transferred to St. John’s to play under coach Rick Pitino. He has continued to make significant contributions, including recording St. John’s first triple-double since 1999 in a victory over Marquette, with 10 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists. Despite not making the Big East’s first team, his teammates have publicly supported him, highlighting his importance to the team.
