Early Life and Education

Johnson attended Oak Hill Academy in Virginia, where he was recognized as a five-star recruit and ranked among the top players in the 2018 class. He played one season of college basketball at the University of Kentucky, earning honors such as the SEC Freshman of the Year and a spot on the McDonald’s All-American team.

Professional Career

Selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 29th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Johnson signed with the team in July 2019. He made his NBA debut later that year and, in August 2020, scored a season-high 24 points in a win against the Houston Rockets. In January 2023, Johnson achieved a career-high 36 points in a victory over the Brooklyn Nets. He signed a four-year, $80 million contract extension with the Spurs in July 2022.
