Kelly Oubre Jr. is an American professional basketball player currently playing as a shooting guard and small forward for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. Born on December 9, 1995, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he played one season of college basketball at the University of Kansas before declaring for the NBA draft in 2015. He was selected 15th overall by the Atlanta Hawks and subsequently traded to the Washington Wizards. Throughout his career, Oubre has also played for the Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and Charlotte Hornets.

In September 2023, Oubre signed a one-year, $2.9 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. However, in November 2023, he was struck by a car while walking near his Philadelphia residence, resulting in a fractured rib and other injuries. He missed 11 games before returning in December 2023. Oubre re-signed with the 76ers in July 2024. On December 30, 2024, he achieved a career-high eight steals in a win against the Portland Trail Blazers.

In January 2025, Oubre averaged 17.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, especially stepping up during the absences of teammates Joel Embiid and Paul George. This performance led to discussions about the 76ers’ strategy regarding Oubre’s potential trade before the February 6 deadline, with suggestions that retaining him could benefit the team’s playoff aspirations and future plans.

Off the court, Oubre married Shylynn Oubre in July 2022 in Puerto Rico. They have two children: a daughter named Málibu, born in 2021, and a son named TsuSún Kelly, born in May 2023. Shylynn owns a hair and beauty brand called SHHY Beauty, and the couple enjoys traveling together, having visited destinations like the Bahamas, French Polynesia, and Saint-Tropez.
