Kelsi Musick, a native of Canton, Oklahoma, has been appointed as the head coach of the University of Arkansas women’s basketball team. She signed a five-year contract worth $600,000 per year.
Prior to joining Arkansas, Musick served as the head coach at Oral Roberts University (ORU) for three seasons, leading the Golden Eagles to postseason appearances in each of the past two years and increasing the team’s win total every season.
Before her tenure at ORU, Musick spent 13 seasons as the head coach at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, amassing a 259-125 record and earning Great American Conference Coach of the Year honors five times.
Musick’s coaching philosophy emphasizes a high-octane, dribble-drive offense. In her first season at ORU, the team finished with the 16th highest scoring offense in the country, averaging 78.1 points per game. In her second season, they ranked 8th nationally, averaging 81.8 points per game.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new role, Musick stated, “I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the women’s basketball program at the University of Arkansas. This is a place with a proud tradition, passionate fans, and a commitment to excellence in every way.”
