K’Lavon Chaisson is a professional American football outside linebacker currently playing for the New England Patriots. Born in Houston, Texas, he attended North Shore Senior High School, where he earned first-team All-State honors and was named the state’s top defensive player in his position.
He went on to play college football at Louisiana State University (LSU), contributing significantly to the Tigers’ national championship win in 2020.
In the 2020 NFL Draft, Chaisson was selected 20th overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Over his career, he has also played for the Carolina Panthers and the Las Vegas Raiders. In the 2024 season with the Raiders, Chaisson achieved career highs, recording five sacks and 29 quarterback pressures. His performance, including a standout game against the Kansas City Chiefs where he registered 1.5 sacks, highlighted his potential as a pass rusher.
On March 13, 2025, Chaisson signed a one-year, $5 million contract with the New England Patriots, aiming to bolster their pass rush alongside players like Harold Landry and Anfernee Jennings. His familiarity with Patriots’ coaching staff, particularly defensive line coach Doug Marrone, is expected to facilitate a smooth integration into the team’s defensive schemes.
