Kyshawn George is a Swiss-Canadian professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Washington Wizards in the NBA. Born on December 12, 2003, in Aigle, Switzerland, he grew up in Monthey. George began his basketball journey with the Swiss U16 national team, contributing to their championship win in 2016. He later moved to France, where he played for Élan Chalon, first with the U18 team and eventually with the U21 team, averaging 17.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 steals per game in the 2022–23 season.
In April 2023, George committed to the University of Miami, joining the Miami Hurricanes basketball team. He made an immediate impact, transitioning from a backup role to a starter midway through his freshman season. His performance garnered attention from NBA scouts, and he declared for the 2024 NBA Draft. The New York Knicks selected him as the 24th overall pick but traded him to the Washington Wizards on draft night. He signed a four-year, $14.3 million contract with the Wizards in July 2024.
As a rookie, George has made significant contributions to the Wizards. On March 15, 2025, he scored 19 points and led the team in steals during a win over the Denver Nuggets.
Notably, he set a franchise record by making 100 three-pointers in his rookie season.
