Lainey Wilson is an American country singer-songwriter known for her distinctive blend of traditional and contemporary country music, often described as “bell-bottom country.” Born on May 19, 1992, in Baskin, Louisiana, she was raised in a family that cherished classic country artists like Buck Owens and Glen Campbell. Wilson began performing at a young age, even impersonating Hannah Montana during her high school years, which led her to perform at various events across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

In 2011, Wilson moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue a career in country music. She released her self-titled debut album in 2014 and followed up with “Tougher” in 2016. Her breakthrough came with the 2019 EP “Redneck Hollywood,” featuring the hit single “Things a Man Oughta Know,” which reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. This success led to her signing with BBR Music Group, resulting in her 2021 album “Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’.”

Wilson’s career continued to ascend with her 2022 album “Bell Bottom Country” and the 2024 release “Whirlwind.” The latter earned a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. She also ventured into acting, portraying Abby in the television series “Yellowstone,” a role written specifically for her by showrunner Taylor Sheridan.

At the 2025 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, Wilson received seven nominations, including Entertainer of the Year. She was also announced as a performer for the event, which is scheduled for May 8, 2025, and will be hosted by Reba McEntire.

Beyond her professional achievements, Wilson is known for her engaging presence on social media, boasting over 3 million followers on Instagram. She frequently shares updates about her music, personal life, and behind-the-scenes moments with fans.
