Lenawee County is located in southeastern Michigan, USA. Established in 1826 and named after a term believed to mean “male” in the Lenape language, the county encompasses a total area of 761 square miles, with 750 square miles of land and 12 square miles (1.6%) of water.
The county seat and largest city is Adrian. Other cities include Hudson, Morenci, and Tecumseh. Additionally, the county comprises several villages such as Addison, Blissfield, Britton, and Clayton, among others.
As of the 2020 United States census, Lenawee County’s population was 99,423.

In recent news, Lenawee County has been in the spotlight due to significant criminal cases. In August 2024, the remains of Dee Ann Warner, who had been missing since April 2021, were discovered on her husband’s property. Her death was ruled a homicide, and her husband, Dale Warner, has been charged with open murder and tampering with evidence.
Additionally, in March 2025, plans were announced for a Household Hazardous Materials Collection event in Adrian, aiming to help residents safely dispose of hazardous household materials.
