Levi Onwuzurike is an American professional football defensive tackle who plays for the Detroit Lions in the NFL. Born on March 2, 1998, in Allen, Texas, he stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 290 pounds. Onwuzurike played college football at the University of Washington, where he earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2019. He was selected by the Lions in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 41st overall pick.
After a promising start, Onwuzurike’s early career was marred by a back injury that led to him missing the entire 2022 season. He returned in 2024, playing in all but one game and starting ten. That season, he recorded 28 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 13 quarterback hits.
In March 2025, Onwuzurike re-signed with the Lions on a one-year, $5.5 million contract. His versatility, capable of playing both defensive end and tackle, provides the Lions with valuable flexibility on their defensive line.
