Liam McNeeley is a 6-foot-7-inch, 210-pound forward who plays for the University of Connecticut (UConn) Huskies men’s basketball team. Born on October 10, 2005, in Richardson, Texas, he attended J.J. Pearce High School and later John Paul II High School in Plano, Texas.

In his sophomore year, he transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida, where he averaged 12.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game during his senior year. His performance earned him a spot in the 2024 McDonald’s All-American Boys Game.

Initially committed to Indiana University in October 2023, McNeeley decommitted in March 2024 and committed to UConn in April 2024. In his freshman year at UConn, he has made a significant impact, averaging 15.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 40.1%. His outstanding performance earned him the Big East Freshman of the Year award in March 2025.

On February 12, 2025, McNeeley scored a career-high 38 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a victory over No. 24 Creighton, marking a historic feat for UConn. His dynamic leadership and assertive “swagger” have been pivotal for UConn, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
