Melissa Viviane Jefferson, known professionally as Lizzo, is an American singer, rapper, and flautist celebrated for her dynamic performances and empowering music. Born on April 27, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan, she moved to Houston, Texas, at a young age, where she began her musical journey.

Lizzo later relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to pursue her career, releasing her debut album, Lizzobangers, in 2013, followed by Big Grrrl Small World in 2015.
