As of March 24, 2025, the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team is actively competing in the NCAA Tournament. They recently secured a decisive 101-71 victory over Florida State, propelling them to the Sweet 16.
Head coach Kim Mulkey, who led the team to a national championship in 2023, has been instrumental in the Tigers’ success. Notably, former LSU star and WNBA legend Seimone Augustus has transitioned into coaching and now serves as an assistant under Mulkey, contributing valuable insights and mentorship to the team.
A standout player for LSU is Flau’jae Johnson, who is averaging 18.9 points per game. Beyond basketball, Johnson is also a rapper signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, following in the footsteps of her late father, rapper Camoflauge.
Looking ahead, LSU is set to face NC State in the upcoming Sweet 16 matchup, with the game expected to be a high-scoring affair featuring prominent players like Johnson and NC State’s Ta’Niya Latson.
