Mark Consuelos is a Spanish-born American actor and talk show host, best known for his roles in television series such as “All My Children” and “Riverdale.”

Early Life and Education

Born on March 30, 1971, in Zaragoza, Spain, Mark Andrew Consuelos is the youngest of three children. His mother, Camilla, is Italian, and his father, Saul Consuelos, is Mexican. The family relocated to the United States, where Mark grew up in Lebanon, Illinois, and later in Tampa, Florida. He graduated from the University of South Florida in 1994 with a degree in marketing.

Career

Consuelos gained prominence for his portrayal of Mateo Santos on the ABC soap opera “All My Children” from 1995 to 2002 and briefly in 2010. He later played Hiram Lodge, Veronica Lodge’s father, on The CW’s “Riverdale” from 2017 to 2023. Since April 2023, Consuelos has co-hosted the daytime talk show “Live with Kelly and Mark” alongside his wife, Kelly Ripa.

Personal Life

In 1995, Consuelos met Kelly Ripa during screen tests for “All My Children.” The couple married in May 1996 and have three children: Michael Joseph (born June 2, 1997), Lola Grace (born June 16, 2001), and Joaquin Antonio (born February 24, 2003).

Recent Events

During a recent episode of “Live with Kelly and Mark,” Consuelos experienced a wardrobe malfunction when he realized his fly was down during the entire opening segment. He addressed the mishap humorously, and the couple continued the show with light-hearted banter.
