​Mark Dobies (April 3, 1959 – March 11, 2025) was an American actor best known for his roles in popular soap operas such as “Guiding Light” and “One Life to Live.” Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Dobies began his acting career in the late 1990s with appearances in television series like “The Net,” “Nash Bridges,” and “Everybody Loves Raymond.”

He gained prominence for portraying Dr. Noah Chase on “Guiding Light” starting in 2000 and later played District Attorney Daniel Colson on “One Life to Live” from 2003 to 2005. His role on “One Life to Live” was notable for depicting a complex character involved in a controversial storyline.

Beyond television, Dobies showcased his theatrical talents by playing Bruce Niles in the 2004 off-Broadway revival of Larry Kramer’s “The Normal Heart” at The Public Theater.

His dedication to acting was complemented by his passion for sports; he was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and participated in several triathlons, also offering personal training to others.

Dobies passed away on March 11, 2025, at the age of 65, in Dunellen, New Jersey. He is survived by his three children—Francesca (27), Olivia (24), and Robert (21)—as well as his mother, Suzanne, and siblings Paul and Sandy.
