Early Life and Education

Valdes-Scantling attended Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, where he recorded 50 receptions for 800 yards and 14 touchdowns in his senior year. He began his college career at NC State before transferring to the University of South Florida (USF), where he played from 2015 to 2017. Over his college career, he amassed 119 receptions for 1,832 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Professional Career

In the 2018 NFL Draft, Valdes-Scantling was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round (174th overall). He played with the Packers from 2018 to 2021, showcasing his speed and receiving skills. In March 2022, he signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. During his tenure with the Chiefs, he contributed to the team’s victories in Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII, recording a touchdown in the latter. He was released by the Chiefs in February 2024.

Valdes-Scantling joined the Buffalo Bills in May 2024 on a one-year deal but was released in October after recording two receptions for 26 yards. Later that month, he signed with the New Orleans Saints, where he had a notable performance in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons, recording three receptions for 109 yards and two touchdowns. In March 2025, he signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, aiming to bolster their receiving corps following significant roster changes.
