Max Scherzer, born on July 27, 1984, in St. Louis, Missouri, is a right-handed pitcher renowned for his exceptional MLB career. Over 17 seasons, he has played for teams including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers, Washington Nationals, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, and, as of 2025, the Toronto Blue Jays. Scherzer is an eight-time All-Star and a three-time Cy Young Award winner, with World Series championships in 2019 with the Nationals and in 2023 with the Rangers.

In January 2025, Scherzer signed a one-year, $15.5 million contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. However, his debut with the team on March 29 was cut short due to right lat soreness, leading to his early exit after three innings and 45 pitches. Scherzer expressed concern over the injury, stating he felt “imminent danger” and acknowledged the potential severity of the issue.
