Megan Moroney is an American country singer and songwriter known for her emotive storytelling and distinctive “emo cowgirl” style. Born on October 9, 1997, in Savannah, Georgia, she was raised in Douglasville, a suburb of Atlanta. Moroney began her musical journey in college, where she opened for Jon Langston and interned with Kristian Bush of Sugarland. She moved to Nashville in 2020 to pursue a career in music.
Her debut single, “Wonder,” was released in 2021, followed by the EP Pistol Made of Roses in 2022. Her breakout hit, “Tennessee Orange,” charted in 2022 and led to a record deal with Arista Nashville. Despite the label’s closure, she continued her momentum under Columbia Records Nashville.
Her debut album, Lucky, was released in May 2023, reaching the top 40 of the Billboard 200 and earning a Gold certification from the RIAA. She won the New Artist of the Year award at the 2024 CMA Awards.
In July 2024, Moroney released her sophomore album, Am I Okay?, which debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200 and number three on the Top Country Albums chart. The album features tracks like “No Caller ID” and “28th of June,” showcasing her evolution as an artist. She is currently on the “Am I Okay?” tour, with upcoming performances scheduled across the United States.
