Melissa Rivers is an American television host, producer, actress, and New York Times best-selling author. Born on January 20, 1968, in New York City, she is the only child of comedian Joan Rivers and producer Edgar Rosenberg. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts in history.
Throughout her career, Melissa has been involved in various television projects, including hosting red carpet events, producing shows like “Fashion Police,” and co-starring with her mother in the reality series “Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?” She also hosts the podcast “Group Text with Melissa Rivers,” where she discusses a range of topics with guests.
In her personal life, Melissa married horse trainer John Endicott in December 1998, and they divorced in 2003. They have one son, Edgar Cooper Endicott, born in 2000. In March 2025, Melissa married attorney Steve Mitchel in a ceremony at the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Beyond her entertainment career, Melissa is actively involved in philanthropy, particularly in the areas of suicide prevention and mental health. She serves on the board of directors for Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, an organization dedicated to these causes.
