Michael Fassbender, born on April 2, 1977, in Heidelberg, West Germany, is a German-Irish actor renowned for his versatile performances across film and television. Raised in Killarney, Ireland, from the age of two, Fassbender is fluent in both English and German.
Fassbender began his acting career with roles in television series such as HBO’s Band of Brothers (2001) and the fantasy drama Hex (2004–2005). He gained prominence with his portrayal of Bobby Sands in Hunger (2008), earning a British Independent Film Award.
His subsequent performances in Inglourious Basterds (2009) and X-Men: First Class (2011) solidified his status in Hollywood. Notably, his role as Steve Jobs in the biographical film Steve Jobs (2015) earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.
After a brief hiatus, Fassbender returned to the screen with David Fincher’s The Killer (2023), where he played a yoga-loving assassin. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, receiving praise for Fassbender’s performance.
