Michelle Monaghan is an American actress known for her versatile performances in both film and television. Born on March 23, 1976, in Winthrop, Iowa, she is the youngest of three children. Monaghan began her career as a model before transitioning to acting, making her film debut in “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” (2005).

She gained further recognition for her role as Julia Meade in the “Mission: Impossible” series, appearing in “Mission: Impossible III” (2006), “Ghost Protocol” (2011), and “Fallout” (2018). Other notable films include “Gone Baby Gone” (2007), “Made of Honor” (2008), and “Source Code” (2011).

In television, Monaghan starred as Maggie Hart in the first season of “True Detective” (2014) and as Sarah Lane in “The Path” (2016–2018). More recently, she joined the cast of “The White Lotus” for its third season, portraying Jaclyn, a television star navigating complex relationships during a getaway in Thailand.

Monaghan is married to Peter White, an Australian graphic designer, since 2005. The couple has two children: a daughter, Willow Katherine, born in 2008, and a son, Tommy Francis, born in 2013.
