The Michigan State Spartans men’s basketball team, led by 30th-year head coach Tom Izzo, concluded their Big Ten tournament run with a 77-74 loss to the Wisconsin Badgers in the semifinals on March 15, 2025. Wisconsin’s John Tonje scored 32 points, including a pivotal block in the final seconds, to secure the win.

Despite the setback, Michigan State enters the NCAA tournament with a strong 27-6 record, having clinched the Big Ten regular-season title with a 15-3 conference record.

Freshman guard Jase Richardson led the team with 21 points in the semifinal loss.

The Spartans’ performance this season solidifies their status as a top contender in the upcoming NCAA tournament.
