He played college basketball for the USC Trojans before being selected 16th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Vučević is considered one of the greatest European players in NBA history and is renowned for his rebounding prowess. He ranks second among active NBA players for most career double-doubles, trailing only LeBron James.

In the 2024-2025 season, Vučević has been instrumental for the Bulls, averaging 18.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 53.1%. His consistent performance has been a key factor in Chicago’s success this season.

In February 2025, reports indicated that the Los Angeles Lakers were unlikely to pursue a trade for Vučević due to financial considerations, despite earlier interest.
