Norman Powell is an American professional basketball player who currently plays as a guard for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA. Born on May 25, 1993, in San Diego, California, Powell stands 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. He played college basketball at UCLA, earning First-Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2015.

Powell was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks as the 46th overall pick in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft. His rights were traded to the Toronto Raptors, where he played from 2015 to 2021 and won an NBA championship in 2019. He later joined the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021, signing a five-year, $90 million contract. In February 2022, Powell was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, reuniting with former Raptors teammates Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka.

This season, Powell has been exceptional, averaging a career-high 24.2 points per game and shooting 42.8% from three-point range. His effective field-goal percentage of 59.5% surpasses that of stars like Stephen Curry and LeBron James. These performances have positioned Powell as a leading candidate for the Most Improved Player award.

On February 13, 2025, Powell scored 41 points in an overtime win against the Utah Jazz, including nine points in the overtime period. His consistent high-level play has been crucial for the Clippers, especially during stretches when key players were sidelined.

Beyond basketball, Powell is deeply committed to community service. Inspired by his mother, a social worker and special needs teacher, he founded the Norman Powell Foundation to support youth through scholarships and mentorship programs, aiming to provide positive role models and opportunities for underprivileged young people.
