The New England Patriots have signed veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs to a three-year, $69 million contract, with $26 million guaranteed. Diggs, 31, joins the Patriots after a stint with the Houston Texans, where he recorded 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns in eight games before suffering a torn ACL.
Despite the injury, he is expected to be ready for Week 1 of the upcoming season.
This acquisition addresses the Patriots’ longstanding need for a top-tier wide receiver, providing second-year quarterback Drake Maye with a proven target. Diggs’ previous experience with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills further bolsters New England’s receiving corps.
