Paul Danan (2 July 1978 – 15 January 2025) was a British actor and television personality, best known for his role as Sol Patrick in the Channel 4 soap opera “Hollyoaks” from 1997 to 2001. Born in Chigwell, Essex, he also gained prominence through appearances on reality TV shows such as “Celebrity Love Island” and “Celebrity Big Brother.”
Throughout his life, Danan faced personal challenges, including struggles with substance addiction. In June 2024, he was hospitalized for respiratory failure linked to his vaping habit. He passed away at the age of 46 on 15 January 2025 at his home in Bristol. An inquest revealed that his death resulted from a combination of drugs, including heroin, methadone, cocaine, and other substances.
Danan’s career spanned various roles in television and theater. After leaving “Hollyoaks,” he appeared in productions such as “The Queen’s Nose” and participated in several reality TV series. He also directed a children’s drama club in Hertfordshire and had a son, Deniro, born in September 2015.
His untimely death was met with tributes from friends, colleagues, and fans, who remembered him for his talent and vibrant personality.
