PJ Haggerty is an American college basketball player currently playing as a guard for the Memphis Tigers in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). Born on April 13, 2004, in Crosby, Texas, he stands 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 191 pounds. Haggerty began his collegiate career at Texas Christian University (TCU) during the 2022-2023 season, where he played in six games before transferring to the University of Tulsa.
In his freshman year at Tulsa (2023-2024), he averaged 21.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game, earning Third Team All-AAC honors and the AAC Freshman of the Year award.
For the 2024-2025 season, Haggerty transferred to Memphis, where he made an immediate impact. He started all 31 games, leading the team with an average of 21.7 points per game, ranking 15th nationally. He also contributed 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game, earning First Team All-AAC honors and being named the AAC Player of the Year.
Haggerty’s standout performances include a career-high 42-point game against Wichita State in the AAC tournament quarterfinals, tying the conference’s tournament scoring record.
However, his tournament run ended with a loss to Colorado State in the first round of the NCAA tournament, where he scored 18 points on 7-for-23 shooting.
