On Sunday, March 9, 2025, a Beechcraft Bonanza carrying five people crashed into the parking lot of the Brethren Village retirement community near Lancaster Airport in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania. The crash occurred around 3:18 p.m. ET, shortly after takeoff. All five occupants survived and were transported to local hospitals; three were later transferred to a burn center for treatment.
No injuries were reported on the ground, and no buildings were damaged.
Witnesses reported that the pilot had communicated issues with an open door shortly before attempting to return to the airport. However, the plane crashed before reaching the airport.
