Quinta Brunson, born on December 21, 1989, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She gained prominence for creating, producing, and starring as Janine Teagues in the ABC comedy series Abbott Elementary. Her career began with self-produced Instagram videos, notably the “Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date” series, which led to roles at BuzzFeed and the development of her own series.
At the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, Brunson made history by becoming the first Black woman nominated three times in the comedy categories, winning Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. She continued her success by winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at the 75th Emmys.
