Rami Malek is an American actor known for his compelling performances across film and television. Born on May 12, 1981, in Torrance, California, he is the son of Egyptian immigrants. Malek gained prominence for his role as hacker Elliot Alderson in the TV series Mr. Robot (2015–2019), earning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
He further showcased his versatility by portraying Freddie Mercury, the iconic lead singer of Queen, in the biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody (2018). This role earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor, making him the first actor of Egyptian heritage to win in that category.
