Raúl Jiménez is a Mexican professional footballer who plays as a striker for Fulham in the English Premier League and the Mexico national team. Born on May 5, 1991, in Tepeji del Río de Ocampo, Mexico, Jiménez began his career with Club América, where he won the Clausura tournament in 2013.

He later played for Atlético Madrid and Benfica, achieving significant success, including two consecutive league titles with Benfica. In June 2018, he joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan, later making the move permanent. After a serious head injury in November 2020, Jiménez transferred to Fulham in July 2023.

Internationally, Jiménez has been a key player for Mexico since 2013, earning over 100 caps and scoring 37 goals. He represented Mexico in the 2014, 2018, and 2022 FIFA World Cups, as well as in multiple CONCACAF Gold Cups and FIFA Confederations Cups.

In March 2025, Jiménez played a pivotal role in Mexico’s 2-0 victory over Canada in the Concacaf Nations League semifinals, scoring within the first minute and later adding a free-kick goal. This performance secured Mexico’s spot in the final against Panama.

Domestically, Jiménez has made significant contributions in the Premier League. In January 2025, he surpassed Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández to become the highest-scoring Mexican player in Premier League history, achieving 55 goals. His record includes a perfect penalty conversion rate, having scored all 10 penalties he has taken in the league.

Reflecting on his career, Jiménez has expressed gratitude for his continued success, especially considering his near-fatal head injury in 2020. He remains focused on contributing to both his club and national team, with aspirations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
