Robinson Helicopter Company has unveiled the R88, its first all-new aircraft in nearly 15 years, at the Verticon 2025 trade show.

This helicopter expands Robinson’s product line, addressing the growing demand for versatile and cost-effective single-engine utility helicopters.

Key Features of the R88:

  • Capacity: Seats up to 10 occupants, offering approximately 275 cubic feet of cabin space.
  • Performance: Equipped with a Safran Arriel 2W engine producing 950 shaft horsepower, the R88 boasts a maximum internal payload capacity of 2,800 pounds. It offers a range of approximately 350 nautical miles and an endurance of 3.5 hours.
  • Avionics: Features a Garmin G500H display and a four-axis autopilot system.
  • Versatility: Designed for various missions, including aerial firefighting, air medical transport, utility work, and passenger transport. Its adaptable interior allows for quick reconfiguration to suit different operational needs.
  • Certification: The R88 will be type-certified for optional single-pilot IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) operations, expanding its operational capabilities.

Robinson has begun accepting deposits for the R88, with the first flight anticipated by early 2026. The certification process is expected to take approximately three years.
