The New York Giants have signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year contract valued at up to $21 million, with $10.5 million guaranteed. Wilson, 36, brings extensive experience, including a Super Bowl victory with the Seattle Seahawks and ten Pro Bowl selections.
In the 2024 season, Wilson played 11 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers, throwing for 2,482 yards with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions. The Giants’ quarterback lineup now features Wilson, Jameis Winston (who signed a two-year deal last week), and Tommy DeVito. This addition concludes the Giants’ pursuit of Aaron Rodgers, who is now expected to join the Steelers.
Wilson expressed enthusiasm about returning to MetLife Stadium, where he won Super Bowl XLVIII, stating, “Been here before… can’t wait to do it again.”
The Giants hold the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft and may consider selecting a quarterback, with Shedeur Sanders being a potential target.
